Josephine's "Fine" Dining
Game Design, UX, Developer, Content Writing (humor)
Created an interactable AR menu using Vuforia for Josephine's "Fine Dining", a humorously undesirable restaurant I created. The purpose of this project was to showcase an AR experience between a user's mobile device and a physical menu. I leveraged image recognition to trigger the AR dishes that a potential customer would expect to receive. I don't recommend dining here, but 4.5/5 stars for the effort.
User Needs
The question I wanted the end-user to ask was, "why would they do this??" And I think I achieved that. I aimed to make the AR experience clunky, where the food dropped from above onto a virtual plate, bouncing and flopping about.
User Flow
User flow showing the three AR sequences the player can trigger via their mobile device. I later added UI elements to enrich the experience, allowing the user to customize their AR food.
Inspiration
I took a lot of inspiration from food-centric applications and local restaurants. My goal was to make this feel like a real menu until the user began reading the items and dove into the AR experience.
Tools
I incorporated the food items, themselves as the target images. That way, the user knows what they are getting... for better or worse.
